HEALTHY SKIN

What does it mean to have healthy skin?

It is the state in which the skin adequately fulfills its functions as a barrier organ, immune defense, vitamin D activator, melanin producer, temperature regulator and excretory, sensitive and aesthetic organ.

The skin as an aesthetic organ
The skin, from an aesthetic point of view, is considered as a "covering" whose unique properties allow us to enjoy the environment and perceive sensations, as well as being an important part of our image by influencing the self-esteem of the individual.
With the passage of time, especially after the age of 35, the structure of our skin begins to change mainly due to the loss of components such as coenzyme Q10 and hyaluronic acid. The skin begins to lose firmness and volume, wrinkles appear, expression lines are accentuated and skin ageing begins to be noticed.
How to contribute to healthy skin over time
There are a number of factors to take into account to prevent premature skin damage and enjoy healthy skin for much longer:
Lifestyle: A healthy lifestyle that includes a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins contributes to the maintenance of healthier skin, as well as drinking enough water to keep your skin hydrated.
Hygiene and body care habits: Avoid using very hot water in the shower and exposure to inappropriate chemicals and/or cosmetics, depending on skin type.
Lack of sleep and stress: Inadequate rest, wakefulness and stress make the skin more sensitive, and skin problems may appear if prolonged over time.
Sun protection: Avoid a lifetime of intense sun exposure as it tends to cause the appearance of spots, wrinkles and an increase of the risk of skin cancer over time.
Nutritional supplements: There are nutritional supplements that, by means of the synergistic action of their components, contribute to the incorporation of compounds such as hyaluronic acid and coenzyme Q10 as the production of these compounds begins to decrease over time.
